Whittier Schools

January 25, 2010

Great schools are walking distance from many Whittier homes. There are five different school districts.
– Whittier Union High School District
– East Whittier City School District
– Whittier City School District
– Lowell Joint School District
– Fullerton Joint Union High School District

Whittier Union High School has the fourth highest growth in Academic Performance Index in five California counties. Pioneer High School ranked in the top 1480 schools in the nation by Newsweek. And, California High School boasts alumni Bryan Berry who is the lead implementer for the Nepal effort, One Laptop per Child. Although all have Whittier addresses, two lie just outside Whittier in unincorporated Los Angeles County. Your Whittier real estate agent can help you locate the areas serviced by each school, more precisely.

If you prefer church-based schools, ask your Whittier realtor about property located near one of the city’s three Catholic elementary or two Christian schools serving K-8 students.

– St. Bruno’s Parish
– St. Mary of the Assumption
– St. Gregory the Great
– Whittier Christian
– Palm View Christian

The Catholic schools are operated by the Archdiocese of LA County. The Christian schools are Association of Christian Schools International programs.
